THAI boxer Kevin Tyrer will have his beloved pony tail shaved off to raise cash next month for the family of a teenage girl who died of leukaemia.
Cherie Lee Cox lost her fight for life after succumbing to the bone marrow cancer disease earlier this year.
The 17-year-old from Blackburn used to fight at the Sandy Holt Gym in Bolton, and fighters from the club decided to raise much needed funds for the Cox family -- to help meet the costs of Cherie's funeral.
Sandy Holt has already raised £150 for the cause after he completed 1,000 press ups in just 30 minutes.
Now Kevin has volunteered to have his long flowing locks of hair shaved off for the cause at the Brown Street gym on October 16.
His daughter Andrea will shave his hair off on the day.
Mr Holt has appealed to businesses and Boltonians to sponsor the event.
To sponsor the event contact Mr Holt at the gym on 01204 395807.
