VISITORS to Hall i' th' Wood Museum will have an opportunity to see parts of the building normally off limits to the public this weekend.
As part of 2004 Open Heritage Weekend, the museum is offering a fascinating insight into the Grade 1 listed Tudor and Stuart house and its most famous resident, Samuel Crompton.
Between 11am and 5pm this Saturday and Sunday, there will be free entrance to the museum, guided tours of the house and a look in the attics where visitors can see the box where Samuel Crompton hid his Mule during the Machine Breaking riots.
As places are limited, tours of the attics must be booked in advance by calling (01204) 332370. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Also on display at the hall until Wednesday, September 22, is an exhibition of artwork created by Year 11 art pupils at Harper Green School and Art College, Farnworth.
