THE Old Rivingtonians Association is holding its centenary reunion next month.
Former pupils and staff from Rivington and Blackrod High School - and its predecessor, Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School - are expected to travel from as far away as Hong Kong and the Caribbean for the centenary year celebrations.
The annual reunion gala dinner takes place at the Reebok Stadium on Friday, October 8.
It will include an exhibition of photographs, items of school uniform and other memorabilia relating to the association it and school life over the past century.
A century reunion service will be held in the school's own chapel at 2pm on Sunday, October 10, when the Alan Jenner Memorial Window will be dedicated in memory of one of the school's much-loved headteachers.
For dinner tickets, contact association secretary Olive Fisher on 01204 697106 or email o.fisher@virgin.net
