YOUNGSTERS in Radcliffe are to benefit from a new play area in the town.
The ballzone at Bolton Road park will be officially opened on Thursday September 16, by the Mayor of Bury, Cllr Barry Briggs, as part of the first phase of £400,000 worth of improvements to the borough's play areas.
The event will celebrate the completion of the facility and visitors can view the on-going improvements across the park.
The official opening will take place at 5.30pm.
On the day, residents can take part in games and activities free of charge, led by Bury Council's Sports Development Team. There will also be refreshments provided by the Radcliffe Cricket Club. The official opening will take place at 5.30pm.
Neil Long, the council's head of parks and countryside services, said: "We hope that residents and organisations will come along and show their support." Our aim is for the community to help us ensure this creates a successful park for the people of Radcliffe."
