SHE might not be Victoria Beckham but at the age of 94, Ann Castle proved she could strike a pose for the cameras.
The lively nonagenarian was the star for the day when she officially opened a newly refurbished housing office in Great Lever.
As the eldest resident of a sheltered housing estate, Mrs Castle cut the ribbon to Windsor Court's new £55,000 estate office in Great Lever, declaring it open to the cheers of delighted residents, against a backdrop of Union Jack bunting -- and joked that she was striking a pose just like Mrs Beckham.
A three-bedroom house at the court, owned by Hanover Housing Association, in Holmeswood Road, has been converted into a first-floor flat and an upstairs office where the estate manager and housing management officer will be based.
Housing management officer Joanne Greenhalgh said: "Mrs Castle has lived at Windsor Court ever since it opened in 1992 and she is our oldest resident. It seemed fitting to ask her to officially open the offices."
Mrs Castle is a well-known figure around the Bolton area. She has always lived in Great Lever and began her working life working in card tenting in the mills.
As well as having two children, she worked as the head cook at Remploy and was a catering manager in the Bolton Police Station canteen.
Mrs Castle said: "I've outlived most of those I used to work with."
Windsor Court has 46 properties and has 55 residents aged between 60 and 94. It is one of 13 estates owned by Hanover in Bolton.
