WHEN 28,000 Wanderers and Manchester United supporters fill the Reebok Stadium Saturday, they will be treated to the sight of 10 of the top 100 performers in this season's Premiership.
But what might astonish the United-following flock is that only one of their players, new signing Alan Smith, figures among that group.
The other nine are from the high-flying home side.
Such has been the slow start of United that Smith only comes in at number 35 in the list published by official league statisticians, but it is some recognition for the former Leeds favourite's promising start to life across the Pennines.
But apart from him, United players are nowhere to be seen in the Actim Index list, while Bolton's flying start to the season is borne out by the number of Wanderers players who figure in the chart.
Henrik Pedersen is the top placed Wanderer, ranking second only to Arsenal superstar Thierry Henry. With three goals and an assist to his name already, Pedersen has bedded down in Sam Allardyce's team this season, after spending much of the last campaign flitting between the starting line-up and the bench.
Jay-Jay Okocha is placed sixth, with goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, Kevin Davies, Ricardo Gardner, Nicky Hunt, Ivan Campo, Bruno N'Gotty and Gary Speed also featuring on the list.
With nine points from four games, Bolton are third in the early stages of the 2004/05 season.
Ninth-placed United trail them by four points, having beaten only promoted Norwich of their opening four opponents.
