CHORLEY easily overcame Bacup Borough in the FA Cup to set up an away tie with Guiseley in the first qualifying round on September 18.
Two goals from Jamie Vermiglio and David Eatock's third goal in three matches gave Chorley a 3-0 victory over a Bacup side previously unbeaten this season and which included several former Chorley players Lee Wilkinson, Darren Emmett, Phil Baylis, Dave Felgate, Dean Repullo and Jamie Bates in their lineup.
A first minute goal came following a badly timed challenge from former Chorley player Darren Emmett.
Ten minutes into the game man of the match Nicky Taylor had a chance to put the home side level, but he fired the ball over with only the keeper to beat.
Chorley came back and struck the post before a wicked bounce wrong footed Bacup defender Dean Rupullo allowing Jamie Vermiglio to spin and shoot first time, giving Felgate no chance.
Bingham blocked a shot from Emmett, then after a goalmouth scramble, Dean Cryer's goalbound shot was cleared.
David Eatock put the game beyond doubt for Chorley after former Magpies striker Lee Wilkinson gave the ball away.
Mickey Graham, a former manager at Bacup, said: "The fact that our lads played well and deserved to go through is more important than me going back to my old club and winning.
"Before we went to Bacup we knew it was going to be a tough one. But collectively we played better and we were able to build on Jamie's early goal. It was good to come away with our first clean sheet of the season.
"We're all looking forward to the challenge of the first qualifying round tie at Guiseley and we don't mind being the underdogs."
Graham this week secured the services of Accrington Stanley winger Paul Carvill on a month's loan. He said: "Paul is a wide player and with the wingers we have, John Hughes and I are keen to make use of the width at Victory Park. We all know how important this area can be."
Winger Jonathan Thompson failed a fitness test on a hamstring on Saturday and full-back Simon Kay strained a calf, while Richard Fogarty came off with a dead leg. All were hoping to be back this week.
Mike Weedon, full back, is out for six weeks with a broken toe.
After the midweek trip to Clitheroe, last season's North West Counties League champions, Chorley are at home on Saturday against Eastwood Town, who are back up from the Northern Counties East, and play Mossley away on Tuesday.
Chorley manager John Hughes was unable to return in time for Clitheroe game as he has been unable to get a flight from Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Frances.
