JESSE and Lily Mather, from Westhoughton, recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on Jesse's 84th birthday.
Jesse and Lily, aged 82, were married at Holy Trinity Church, Bolton, on September 2, 1944. They have three children, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Instead of presents, they asked for donations to Christies Hospital and they presented a cheque for £1,000 to regional fundraising chairman Carl Sharpe.
