I SUPPORT the views expressed very well by John MacGregor (September 10).
Born and bred in Bolton I have returned many times with my wife and family. On most of these visits there are two, "first in line" places to go that make Bolton unique. One is the Olde Pastie Shoppe on Churchgate and the second is The Market Hall.
The latter is a superb example of how one can "enjoy" shopping and feel the desire to "linger a while" and relax and do some people watching. With chain stores and designer shops this would be just like any other retail experience - a mini Trafford Centre.
I urge the citizens to object to this folly. The Bolton Market Hall is truly unique.
