ALAN McAtee caught 19lbs of roach to come out on top in last week's President's Shield Match at Doe Hey.
The former England international angler used pole and bloodworm to ensure the best catch on a hot, bright day. The weather was thought to be the reason that only roach could be caught at what is a multi-species venue.
As McAtee was a non-member, the trophy went to second-placed Bob Fearnhead, with 17lb 7oz.
Paul Johnson was third with 10lb 10oz, and William Green fourth with 9lb 9oz.
