VISITORS climbed more than 200 narrow spiral steps to see views of Bolton from the top of the Parish Church.
The church held a heritage day on Saturday which saw more than 40 people enjoy three separate tours of the church tower. Visitors saw both sides of the 12-bell tower, which dates back to 1699, catching a good glimpse underneath the bells and above.
Some even had a go at the art of bell ringing, even though the heaviest bell weighed just less than a tonne.
The church is in need of bell ringers. Anyone who wants to train as a bell ringer or is already skilled in the art, should telephone Alan Forrester on 01204 842138.
