THE campaign to save three North-west army regiments from a possible merger is being stepped up.
The Queen's Lancashire Regiment, King's Own Royal border regiment in Cumbria and the Cheshire Regiment could be amalgamated to cut defence costs.
North West MPs met the Colonel of the Cumbrian Border Regiment to discuss the plans on Wednesday.
War veterans are handing in a petition to Downing Street this week.
