SWINDON Wildcats have released netminder Dave Clancy.
Citing work commitments and the extreme amount of travelling required for the player to commute from his Manchester base in the short term, both parties have agreed to sever their agreement.
Coach Lipsey has secured the services of Chris Douglas as a replacement for lead netminder.
Chris Douglas (25) played last season at Romford and achieved a 90.2% save rate over his 30 appearances with average goals against per match of 3.5. Douglas is a product of the Romford youth system and the 5' 11", 185lb Bromley born 'keeper has a reputation for being a reliable, if somewhat flamboyant, netminder. He has previous seasons EPL experience with Chelmsford and Romford and also early in his career as a back up netminder at BNL level with Cardiff Rage, Peterborough and Hull.
It is anticipated that Douglas will be available for the Wildcats' weekend fixtures against Telford and Blackburn in the English Premier Ice Hockey League's Cup competition.
