THE Royal Mail has fallen short of Government targets for deliveries across Bolton.
Figures published last month covering the three-month period from April to June 2004 show that only 90 per cent of first-class letters sent from the BL postcode to addresses outside the borough arrive the next day.
The figure falls below the Government's target of 92.5 per cent.
Mail sent to addresses within the borough also fails to hit the target, with only 90.5 per cent of first-class mail arriving the next day.
Bolton is one of the 101 postcode areas where the targets have not been met.
