SAM Allardyce completed his summer transfer spree on Tuesday when he signed 29-year-old Senegal midfield international Khalilou Fadiga writes Gordon Sharrock
The former Auxerre star, who had an ill-fated spell at Inter Milan last season, joins Wanderers on a contract to the end of the season with the option of an extension if he proves successful.
"It will be good to have him on the front line when he gets fit which should be in about four to six weeks," Allardyce said of the player who has been training with Wanderers for over a fortnight.
Fadiga feared he would have to quit the game earlier this year when diagnosed as having an irregular heart beat, but has undergone surgery in Belgium and has been given a clean bill of health by the Wanderers backroom staff.
Wanderers were able to sign the midfielder because he is a free agent after his contract with Inter Milan was cancelled last season.
Allardyce is now unlikely to pursue his interest in the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emanuel Petit.
