WORKERS at Boddingtons Brewery in Manchester have vowed to fight the brewery's closure following a meeting of the workforce on Monday.
Last week, InBev, formerly known as Interbrew, announced its decision to close the Manchester brewery, which would result in the loss of 55 jobs and an end to Boddingtons' claim to be "the cream of Manchester".
Franny Joyce, Regional Industrial Organiser for the Transport and General Workers' Union, who represent the workers at Boddingtons, said: "The workforce has given 100 per cent support to the T&G's campaign to fight the proposed closure. It is our intention to take this fight to InBev at the highest level."
