THE financial state of the Bolton Primary Care Trust is looking healthy after clearing millions of pounds worth of debt in just two years.
When the Bolton PCT was formed two years ago, it inherited a £4.6 million debt. After one year, this was reduced to £4.1 million and this year, the PCT has cleared the debt.
GP Stephen Liversedge, who presented the PCT annual report, told the trust board that recovery plan, which included negotiation and "painful discussions", was the reason for the success.
