A COUNTYWIDE triathlon for young people with disabilities will be held at Westhoughton Leisure Centre.
More than 100 ahtletes are expected to take part in the event which will include a super sprint 50m swim, 300m cycle and 300m run, a sprint 100m swim, 600m cycle and 300m run and a long distance event consisting of 150m swim, 900m cycle and 1000m run.
The Greater Manchester Inclusive (Disability) Triathlon, will take place on Saturday, October 9, and is part of Bolton Council's plans to work with the national governing body British Triathlon to create events to increase the number of athletes with disabilities taking part. The sport already has some great athletes in the form of Paula Craig and Chris Brogan, both international athletes who competed in Cancun, Mexico, and have also competed in the wheelchair event in the London Marathon.
