SO Bolton Council are up in arms about "littering" by a local bar (Bolton Evening News, September 14), and claim they are trying to clean up the town and get people to take pride in Bolton.
Perhaps someone from the council could explain why I was told it would cost me £62 an hour if I wanted the graffiti shown in these pictures removed? What kind of message are the council sending by allowing this mess to remain?
A lot of people who do not live in the area park here when they go shopping, or to work, on Chorley Old Road - what must their opinions of the area be? Not good, I should imagine.
Still, I have come to expect nothing more from Bolton Council (no matter which party is in power). They introduce a £10 charge for the removal of unwanted items, then wonder why fly-tipping increases.
They leave graffiti on walls and buildings, then wonder why people have no pride in their areas.
