A BOLTON firefighter will appear before magistrates following the death of a motorist earlier this year.
Ian Robertson, aged 42, was driving a fire engine which collided with a car in Irlam in January, killing 39-year-old driver Phillip Yates, from Eccles.
Mr Robertson, from Kearsley, was taken off driving duties following the accident - which happened when he and a crew were attending a 999 call - but was not suspended from his job.
He will appear before magistrates in Salford tomorrow.
