NOMINATIONS are already coming in for an event next month which will honour Bolton's females.
The Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Prentice Howarth, is holding the annual Bolton Woman of the Year Awards and Luncheon at the Reebok's Platinum Suite on Friday, October 29.
The event will highlight the town's unsung heroines from all walks of life.
"We want to hear about all kinds of women - charity workers, teachers, parents and caring bosses," said Cllr Howarth.
"It is a rare opportunity for Bolton to say 'thank you' to these special people who regularly and quietly help others with no thought of reward."
Past winners have included women working with victims of crime, helping blind and visually impaired children and teaching generations of children to appreciate music. Women previously nominated can also be nominated this year. The luncheon, which includes a four-course meal, will be hosted by entertainer and broadcaster Norman Prince. The guest speaker will be June Grice, who has an enduring and lively background in amateur stage.
Tickets are £16.50 each, with ticket details - along with entry forms - available from the Mayor's Secretary Sally Hayes on 01204-331057 or email sally.hayes@bolton.gov.uk
