A BUSINESSMAN is offering a reward for the return of his laptop which he accidentally left on the roof of his car as he drove off to a meeting.
Gary Lovatt left the Enterpise Centre in Washington Street, Bolton, last Wednesday at around 6pm and set off for London where he was due to give a presentation to a client the following day.
During the journey, he realised his computer was missing but assumed it was in the boot or he had left it behind in his office.
When he returned to his office earlier this week, Mr Lovatt could not find the computer and checked the CCTV footage at the Enterprise Centre.
The footage showed that he had left the laptop on the roof of his car as he drove away.
Desperate for its return, he posted flyers in the area offering a reward.
Mr Lovatt, aged 25, said: "The laptop is of no real interest to me - it can be replaced, it is the information stored on it that I would like back.
"It is 18 months worth of work and it will take me until at least Christmas to redo everything again.
"It is of no use to anyone else. If anyone has found it, please hand it in to the Enterprise Centre or contact the police.
"Even if it is damaged, I might be able to retrieve it from the hard disk and there is a cash reward on offer."
The black Compac Armada 7400 laptop was in a black leather case at the time of its disappearance.
If you have any information about it call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
