PARENTS favour a zelo tolerance approach to pupils who bring drugs and weapons into schools, according to a poll.
More than nine out of 10 parents are in favour of random searches to catch pupils committing the offences, according to a poll published in The Times Educational Supplement.
Eight out of 10 parents support automatic expulsion for pupils who deal in cannabis and more than seven out of 10 said the same punishment should apply to those caught with a knife.
