BGAA MUCH depleted Bolton Golf Association lost 7.5-4.5 to a strong Lancashire B team at Deane.

Lancashire showed their class from the start, taking a 4-0 lead in the morning foursomes, but the BGA came back at the visitors in the afternoon singles, which they won 4.5-3.5.

BGA President, Terry Rawson said: "I was very pleased with the character of our lads coming back from the morning deficit. We were short of a number of our top players but I am sure many of the side will be pushing for selection again."

Mark Latham (Regent Park) put in a good performance beating Richard Blundell (Hillside) 2&1, while rookie Chris Bainbridge (Old Links) did well to halve his match with Daniel Nutter (Nelson).

Nigel Lowe (Deane) crowned his debut beating the long hitting Luke Burrows (Leigh) 3&2 and young Joe Morris (Chorley) claimed victory over Matthew Robson (Ormskirk) 2 up.
