I SEE that councillors are trying to decide how to spend the District Centre Improvement Fund award of £20,000.
It is no wonder our Council Tax bills continue to rise when money is put aside by Bolton Council like this.
We don't need to spend this sort of money - our hard earned money - on welcome signs to Horwich. We need lower bills and better services - achievable if our councillors keep focused on the things that matter.
If we really have to find a home for this money, may I suggest that it be used to keep the CCTV cameras in Horwich. These will benefit the whole community, not just the shopkeepers who have been singled out for objecting to paying for it in addition to their business rates.
