THE initials BNP have been scrawled on properties in Adlington and immediately it is assumed they stand for British National Party -- talk about prejudice!
Has it been considered that there could be a branch of the Bangladeshi National Party (BNP) in Adlington, targeting a restaurant run by Asians not sympathetic to their cause?
Or alternatively, is the Bank Nationale de Paris (the BNP) -- well known as sponsors of tennis matches and finance -- setting up a branch in Adlington, and looking for business?
Members of the British National Party (the BNP) would never carry out graffiti or other acts of criminal damage, but it is a measure of the extent to which our name had been deliberately sullied by the media that yobs see us as bogeymen and use the initials BNP as a weapon.
Phill Edwards, BNP National Press Officer
