A SERIES of walks has been arranged to improve the health of people in Bolton.

The health walks around some of Bolton's parks and green spaces were launched last year by Bolton Council and the East Bolton Regeneration project.

They take place on Tuesdays at 10am in Moses Gate Country Park, with walkers meeting at the Rock Hall Visitor Centre, and on Wednesdays at 1.30pm in Moss Bank Park, starting at the main car park off Moss Bank Way and Captains Clough Road.

On Thursdays, walks start at 10am from Washacre Primary School, Clough Avenue, Westhoughton, and family walks are to be held at 6.30pm at Seven Acres Park, leaving from the car park of Waggon Road Community Centre.

Walkers should wear something comfortable, take a waterproof and something to drink.

Research shows that just being out in green, open spaces reduces the heart rate, relieves stress and makes people feel happier.
