A DOCTOR involved in a fatal road traffic accident while driving drunk has been cleared by a jury.

Dr David Herbert , of Woolton, Merseyside, had been on a binge drinking session with friends in Liverpool when the crash happened.

Dr Herbert, aged 26, was cleared by a jury at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday of causing death by careless driving while unfit.

He was fined £2,500 for a lesser offence.
