PARENTS are threatening to boycott a replacement school set up for children.
Bolton Parish Church School was closed earlier this month after education bosses found that land subsidence might put it at risk of collapse.
But concerned parents say they are unwilling to send their children to a replacement school at the former Longsight Primary School at Harwood because they have not been given the chance to see the building.
Three mothers said that their children have already missed two weeks of school, stretching their summer break to two months.
They say they are unwilling to send children to the school because education chiefs will not hold an open day until after classes have restarted.
"They will not let us see the school before we send the kids there and the children are frightened about going there," said the mother of a seven-year-old boy.
"We chose Bolton Parish because of its good facilities and I am very reluctant to let my son go anywhere that we have not seen."
Another parent, the mother of two boys, aged seven and four, said: "By the time they get to school, the eldest will have been off for at least two months.
"I have been up to the school at Harwood but was not allowed in."
Another mother added: "I have asked for learning packs so I can keep my son busy but I have been told that there is no point because he will be back by next week.
"This is a very important year because he's taking SATs and I'm angry that they've not kept us informed."
A council spokesman said: "An open day for parents is planned but our first priority is to get the children back into school."
Children are due to start at the Longsight school next Monday.
