Accrington 2 Leigh RMI 1 by David Magilton: MISSED chances cost Leigh dear as they gave second-placed Accrington a run for their money in the Conference on Saturday.
"With the chances we created, we should have taken something from the game," bemoaned RMI assistant manager Gary Kelly.
"We had four or five good chances and hit the bar. We are playing good football and we could have won games against two of the top teams, but have only come away with a point. If you look at our performances this season we should be in the top six, but we have missed too many chances."
Lee McEvilly scored twice to keep Accrington three points behind leaders Barnet.
They went ahead when Ged Brannan played a free-kick to McEvilly, who hit an angled drive into the bottom corner. Paul Mullin went close twice for Stanley before McEvilly got his second.
Leigh's Gareth Stoker hit the woodwork from long range before Michael Byrne lashed home a consolation.
