TOM Bostock says wind energy is green. It is not - it is red with the blood of the birds and bats killed by the turbine blades.
He says the low frequency noise can only be heard if you are within 100 meters of the turbines. Not true, LF noise can travel 6 miles; it is not attenuated by the atmosphere to the same extent as higher frequencies; it is felt as vibrations and can penetrate walls and resonate off points within a room, or indeed within people's chest cavities.
Perhaps worse of all, he says it is a choice between wind and nuclear energy. If he believes that by increasing the amount of wind turbines producing intermittent, surge-prone electricity we will avoid nuclear expansion he is living not in New Zealand but in cloud cuckoo land.
Some other renewables do stand a chance of doing that, a National Grid fed by wind? - never.
