SUNDAY League soccer side Sharples FC grabbed their chance of TV glory on Granada TV's new season of Soccernight.
The cameras captured Sharples win a 3-2 thriller in their first match of the season against last year's league winners, the Mason's Arms.
Sharples who played the match at their home ground at Barlow Park, Astley Bridge, in August, were thrilled to be chosen by show producers. They had seen the team's website and sent an email to the club's secretary Gary Smethurst asking if the lads would interested.
Shots of the second division team in action were aired at the end of the half-hour show on Thursday night.
Team manager, Will Cocker, said: "We were pleased to be chosen and I hope it will encourage more people to get involved in local football."
