CREATIVE pupils at a Bury school have been to the Houses of Parliament for a meeting with a minister after winning a green poster competition.
Youngsters from Holcombe Brook Primary School have been congratulated by Schools Minister Stephen Twigg MP for winning a poster competition along the theme of Save the Environment.
The youngsters had to come up with a poster design to show the potential effects of climate change and how the local environment can be protected.
Mr Twigg said, "It is vital that children begin to grasp the significance of environmental issues at an early stage in their education.
"Poster Power is an interactive way for primary school pupils to get an understanding of important environmental concerns. I am delighted to see that the competition has captured the imagination of teachers and pupils."
The Holcombe Brook pupils will have the opportunity to their design featured in a calendar which will be distributed to schools.
