Man City 7 Barnsley 1: THE City fans sang "Are you watching Arsenal" but Kevin Keegan was not fooled.

City romped to their biggest win under Keegan with a mesmerising display of slick passing and clinical finishing.

But when the Premiership champions visit Eastlands on Saturday, Keegan knows his team will have to produce the performance of their lives to end the Gunners' all-time English record of 46 league games unbeaten.

"We'll certainly have a go," vowed the City boss in typical gung-ho fashion.

"Arsenal won't think it's a forgone conclusion and if all our players play the way I know they can, we'll have a chance. We certainly have one or two players who can cause problems. But they have 11 who can cause us problems."

One player unlikely to get a chance to cause problems is Robbie Fowler. Poor against Everton and on the bench for the win at Crystal Palace on Saturday, the out of sorts striker was left out of the squad altogether last night.

Fowler's place went to Shaun Wright-Phillips who was a sensation at centre-forward, setting up goals for Joey Barton, Jon Macken, Antoine Sibierski and the impressive debutante Willow Flood, and grabbing one himself with a peach of a chip. A defence-splitting run put another golden chance on a plate for his younger brother, half time substitute Bradley, but his lack of composure cost him a debut goal.

Macken pounced on a back-pass for his second and Sibierski completed his own double with a solo goal, while ex-City youngster Barry Conlon scored Barnsley's consolation at a time when the Blues were already 5-0 up.
