COMMUNITY groups and local voluntary organisations could share a £10,000 windfall - for the price of a stamp.
The Bolton Evening News and Combined Insurance have got together to give away a cash helping-hand to groups which make a difference in their communities.
Make It Happen is a community awards scheme which offers cash gifts to local organisations with a proven track record of helping people across the Bolton borough.
We would like to hear from as many groups as possible about what they would do with sums ranging from £100 to over £1,000.
We will feature as many of the groups applying as we can in next month's editions of the Bolton Evening News. And in November, there will be a special presentations evening for the lucky recipients.
It could be a local youth club desperate for new equipment or a caring group helping the sick or elderly who can make a difference in others lives with a large donation.
"We know that there are many groups in the Bolton area who work very hard for local people," said Bolton Evening News' editor Steve Hughes.
"This is a chance for them, not only to publicise the excellent things they do for others, but also for us to help them enhance their efforts."
Local groups simply need to write in about their activities, enclosing a "shopping list" of projects on which they would spend a gift of cash to: MAKE IT HAPPEN, Community Awards, Angela Kelly, Features Dept, Bolton Evening News, Churchgate, Bolton BL1 1DE or email Drop a line...akelly@boltoneveningnews.co.uk.
