A DEDICATED husband is to pay a touching musical tribute to his wife who died suddenly last month.

Mick Clark, from Coppull, has organised an evening featuring some of Chorley's most established artists in memory of Tina who died, aged 54, after cancer surgery left her with a fatal blood clot.

The night, A Song for Tina, is in aid of Derian House Children's Hospice in Astley Village.

Mick said: "All the people who are appearing are friends of mine or Tina's.

"They're all doing it for free and it should be a great night."

music fan Mick, dad to Andrea and Gemma, began arranging the night two weeks after his wife died.

On the line-up are bands and artists playing a range of music, including folk, blues, classical, and country and western.

Featured artists include Chorley instrumentalist and singer Jon Brindley, classical soloist Chris Hubbold, Wigan mandolin player John O'Grady and session drummer Dave Hunt.

Tina's husband Mick, 55, is hosting the evening himself under the guise 'Melodious Mick'.

He said: "I was speaking to Billy Hunt, who is appearing at the night, at Tina's funeral.

"I've always been a big music fan and when Billy suggested it, I thought it would be a fitting tribute.

"All the bands were happy to get involved, and we're hoping to raise quite a bit of money for Derian."

Entry is by donation on the door at 7.30pm on Friday, September 24, at St James's Bowling Club, Eaves Lane, Chorley.
