HENRIK Pedersen will have no qualms about answering his country's call next month.

Wanderers' top scorer was one of the players Sam Allardyce was referring to when he warned his 10-strong international brigade they could find their places under threat because of the strength in depth of his Premiership squad.

After making his first appearance in four years for Denmark as substitute in the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine, Pedersen was taken off at half time in the Manchester United game and relegated to the bench at Arsenal - a direct result, the manager confirmed, of the international call.

But he is expected to be named in the Denmark squad for their two qualifiers next month and, if he gets the invitation, he will gladly go because he feels all the better for it.

"Getting my place back in the Denmark squad has given me a lot of confidence because, in my mind, the biggest thing you can have in the world is the honour of playing for your country," he said.

Pedersen has repeatedly responded to challenges to his position as Wanderers' frontline striker with high impact performances and it was his introduction, along with Les Ferdinand, early in the second half that turned that put Arsenal on the back foot at Highbury.

The pair combined for the late equaliser with the dashing Dane latching onto Ferdinand's flick-on to get the vital touch past Gunners keeper Jens Lehmann.

"I've been having a good run," he said, reflecting on his rather fortuitous fourth goal of the season. "Sometimes you have a bit of luck when you score and sometimes it's a good strike. At Arsenal it was a bit of both."
