BOLTON'S senior citizens will be celebrating the International Day of the Older Person on Thursday.
The Bolton and District Over 50s Federation is running an exhibition, discussion groups and a Looking Back fun session at the Friends' Meeting House in Silverwell Street in the town centre from 1.15pm to 4pm.
Agencies exhibiting include Bolton Carers Support, the Pensions Agency, Community Transport, Bolton Volunteer Bureau, Age Concern and Dark Horse Venture - a Liverpool group which encourages people to develop hidden talents.
The event includes lunch and is for members only, but membership is currently free by calling Lillian Punchaby on 01204 525097.
The Federation, which campaigns for better services and equality for older people by promoting their needs and interests, has around 300 local members of all ages.
