DAVID Lloyd (Bolton) B won the BSF Tennis League's Cecil Cup by beating Walmer B 56-47 at Bolton School.
The two Division Five teams fought out an entertaining match in the final of the knockout competition for all of the teams in the Mixed League.
Walmer B were given a slight advantage on the handicap scoring system, with a point start every fourth game.
But David Lloyd took three out of the first four mixed sets, which left Walmer trailing by three games.
In the ladies' sets, Walmer's women played well but could only win one out of four, as David Lloyd tipped the balance with some confident and decisive play. All of the men's sets were closely fought with Walmer winning two.
David Lloyd's men then turned on the style and comfortably won the last two sets.
That ensured that they had enough points to see them through the ladies' pairs and win the cup.
