A 39-YEAR-OLD man is recovering in hospital following a serious road accident in Farnworth more than a week ago.
Mohammed Khan, of Loxham Street, Farnworth, was thrown from a stolen Range Rover which crashed as it sped away from a police van.
He suffered serious head injuries and was treated in the intensive care unit at Salford's Hope Hospital. He is now in a stable condition on a neurological ward.
Mr Khan was a passenger in a Range Rover which lost control, mounted a pavement and crashed into a road sign and a tree in Loxham Street in the early hours of last Saturday.
Moments earlier, a police officer had tried to stop the vehicle in Manchester Road for a routine check but it sped away.
