THREE enterprising schoolchildren raised £165 for charity after they organised a party in their street.
Sally Jenkinson, aged 11, Phillip Jones and Jessica Snelle, both aged 10, saved up £85 in pocket money for eight months to pay for all the items they needed for the party in Severn Way, Kearsley.
They hired a bouncy castle, bought prizes for a raffle and food and drink for the event in aid of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury.
Sally wanted to raise money for the children's hospital because her aunt Belinda Hassall suffers from an allergy to milk -- and does not want children to suffer the same problem.
All their hard work came to fruition when around 50 people enjoyed the street party.
Sally, who attends George Tomlinson School, said: "It was important for us to raise money for the children's hospital. It's not a very nice condition which my auntie has.
"The party went really well. It rained at first but then everyone came out of their houses and got involved. Some of my neighbours even helped on the stalls. We were all really pleased."
Sally's proud dad Chris, said: "The party was a great day for everyone. People came from all around the area."
