AN album of photographs from the 1926 FA Cup final compiled by a Bolton Wanderers player has been sold for £1,300 at a London auction.
Harry Nuttall, a Bolton Wanderers midfield star in the 1920s, put together an album full of memories from his playing days.
The album was expected to reach around £800 - but a bidding frenzy at the auction at Christie's Auction house saw it go under the hammer for £1,314.
The album includes pre-match preparations, a golf day, meeting King George V, action shots from the final including Bolton's winning goal against Manchester City, team photographs and dressing room images.
Harry was born in Burnden, just yards from Wanderers former ground Burnden Park.
He won three FA Cup winners medals with Wanderers and made 326 appearances for the Trotters.
After playing for Wanderers he had spells with Rochdale and Nelson before returning to Burnden Park as second team trainer until 1964. He died five years later, aged 71.
The auction house did not reveal who was selling or who bought the album.
