Leigh RMI 3 Hereford 4 by David Magilton: LEAKY Leigh did it again, throwing away a point when they conceded a goal in injury time.

It was not what Leigh deserved as three times they clawed their way back into the game with equalisers, only to be cruelly denied by Hereford's last throw of the dice.

The Railwaymen have picked up a meagre six points this season, while high-flying Hereford were more than grateful to notch up their fourth successive win.

The visitors went ahead when Lee Mills had a shot blocked in the seventh minute, but the ball was only cleared as far as Graham Hyde on the edge of the box and he curled in a lovely cross that the unmarked Mills headed home.

Leigh weathered the storm and began to trouble the visitors. They finally found the target in the 55th minute when Chris Lane's centre was headed across the area by Karl Rose, to Warren Peyton, and he poked it through the keeper's legs from the tightest of angles.

It took the visitors just four minutes to recapture the lead, however, when Mills outpaced the defence and grabbed his second goal when the former Telford striker tucked it neatly past Ian Martin.

Leigh were not to be denied and they levelled again within a minute, this time skipper Gareth Stoker rose above a static defence to glance home a powerful header from Ian Fitzpatrick.

Substitute Adam Stansfield then took a hand firing home from close range in the 82nd minute when the ball dropped kindly for him after Mills' fierce 20 yards drive was blocked by a defender.

It looked all over for Leigh, but they showed great character to bounce back for a third time when Michael's Byrne corner was cleared out to substitute Steve Smith, who slotted it home from the edge of the box. Just when Leigh thought they had earned a point, the nightmare injury-time scenario returned to haunt them again and Stansfield drove home.
