SING Live North West, the national singing organisation, wants to recruit singers from Bolton for a concert at the Bridgewater Hall in January next year.
The group wants 250 singers altogether from the North-west for the show called Sing Swing.
No experience is necessary and there are no auditions to join the main company. There is a minimum age of 16, but no maximum age.
Singers will be trained over a three-month period to a professional standard and will then appear on stage at the Brigadier Hall where they will be accompanied by the professional National Festival Orchestra Big Band and a celebrity host. The singers will dress in the costumes/uniforms of the 1940s and 1950s.
Sing Swing will feature popular standards from the swing era. Songs made famous by Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Dean Martin, Billy Holiday, Sammy Davis Junior and Robbie Williams will be performed.
Robbie Williams recently brought swing music back into the spotlight with his latest album and TV concert from the Royal Albert Hall.
Anyone wishing to join the singers on stage can obtain information and details from the Sing Live Administration Office on 01609 780315 or by visiting the website at www.singliveuk.com
