THE AWARD-winning Bolton youth theatre company, Children's Amateur Theatre Society (CATS), is searching for an old piano for their 10th anniversary production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Ideally, the piano would no longer be playable so that it can be lightened for use on stage.
The group, whose show will be staged in November at the Astley Bridge Theatre Church, would appreciate hearing from any society that could help.
Playing the leads in Jesus Christ Superstar are Scott Unsworth, aged 21, who plays Jesus, and Carolina Garcia-Cox, aged 16, as Mary Magdalene.
Both take singing lessons, and Scott has just finished at Huddersfield University where he studied music.
Carolina recently took her GCSEs and is now studying for her 'A' levels.
The pair have been members of CATS for about 18 months. Scott has previously taken lead roles, but this is Carolina's first time in a lead part. James Eccleshare plays Judas in the production.
For the first time, CATS will have an 11-piece live orchestra for the show.
CATS has made the news in the last couple of years winning Best Youth Production, Best Youth Male Performance and Best Youth Female Performance in the Greater Manchester Drama Federation full length play festival.
If you are able to help with a piano, would like tickets for the show, which runs from November 24 to 27, or would like more information about CATS, contact Paul or Louise on 01204 659199.
