FIREFIGHTERS will be battling against grime on Saturday - cleaning-up Bolton's dirty cars.
Fire stations are taking part in National Car Wash Day on Saturday, to raise money for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.
Firefighters will ask for a small donation in order to support the FSNBF. Stations taking part locally are: Bolton, Bolton North, Farnworth, Horwich, Bury, Whitefield, Atherton, Leigh, Heywood and Agecroft.
County Fire Officer Barry Dixon said: "The National Car Wash Day is a great opportunity for us to raise money for a worthwhile cause which has benefited many firefighters and their families over the years.
"For just one day we hope to see thousands of gleaming cars on the streets of Greater Manchester."
