BOLTON libraries are cooking up a week of activities to celebrate National Poetry Day.
The town's library service will be celebrating poetry using the theme of food for inspiration.
They will be serving a varied menu of poetry performance, poetry writing, competitions, displays and activities.
The week of activities begins on Monday, October 4 and runs until Friday, October 8.
Among the specials on offer will be a poetry performance by acclaimed poet and writer in residence, John Siddique.
He will perform some of his humorous and insightful work in Bolton Central Library on National Poetry Day, on Thursday, October 7, at 6 pm.
Tickets for the event are free and staff advise anyone interested in attending to book their seat early.
