A LORRY crashed into a railway bridge in Swinton - not once but twice.
It collided with the bridge in Green Lane, Patricroft, the first time shortly before 12.30pm on Monday.
The driver then reversed and hit a black Honda Jazz, being driven by a 33-year-old woman from Swinton.
The lorry then drove forward again and collided with the same bridge, causing the container to move forward and crash into the cab.
The driver, a 30-year-old man from Swinton, received treatment for minor facial injuries by paramedics at the scene and was taken to Hope Hospital.
The driver of the Honda Jazz suffered whiplash injuries and was also treated at the scene.
Green Lane was closed for around five hours while the scene was cleared and engineers examined the bridge to see if any structural damage had been caused. Anyone who may have seen the incident is asked to contact police at Stretford on 0161 856 7773.
