IT may only be September, but plans for Christmas are well underway and Bolton Council is on the look out for companies wanting to add a bit of cheer to their festivities.
The local authority is seeking a sponsor for the 2004 Christmas Lights Switch-on 2004. This year's festive extravaganza will be on Thursday, November 25, and will once again feature a colourful parade through the town and a fun-filled event on Victoria Square. There have been some big names making an appearance at previous years events, including Peter Kay, Vernon Kay and the Cheeky Girls. The council remains tight-lipped over this year's special guests but promises an evening of fabulous free family entertainment.
To make the Christmas spectacular even bigger and better, the Council is hoping to secure sponsorship from local businesses.
A variety of sponsorship opportunities has already been put together, including support for the parade, the stage and the fireworks. Interested companies should contact Norma Rutherford on 01204 332000.
