AMIR Khan's desire to have his coach Mike Jelly in his corner in Athens could be thwarted by Olympic rules.
The Bolton boxer is under the control of Great Britain officials, but says he would love to have his Bury Boxing Club coach with him as well.
His wishes will depend on the number of coaches Great Britain are allowed in the Olympic Games.
Amir said: "I don't think Mike can be in my corner, but I would love to have him there. He knows me better than anybody else.
"I have been with him for six years and he knows me much better than any of the Great Britain coaches, as I have only been in the senior camp for six months.
"I will perform much better with him in the corner than with anybody else.
"He will be there, as he has already booked his ticket, but there will be tight security. Hopefully I will somehow be able to talk to him before I go into the ring."
Great Britain coach Ian Irwin says he will do all he can to get accreditation for Jelly.
He said: "Mike has got an important role to play, as he knows Amir better than anybody else. He has done a hell of a job with him and Bury Boxing Club.
"I recognise his knowledge but there is limited accreditation. It will help Amir if he is there, and I will do all I can."
